Verdi specified in the score that the bass drum should be tightened VERY tightly so it would give a "hard, dry sound." Solti and the Wiener Philharmonic did a fantastic job with this detail, and they made it sound more like a cannon than a drum. I think Verdi would have been pleased.

I saw a magical company (all of whom had sang at (Covent Garden at some time), deliver a wonderful rendition. I know very little about opera however this is my favorite. ●Az LGT mostanában mindig kinn van a Szigeten. Sajnos én nem tudok kijutni, de mindig megnézem az M1-en az ismétlését. Nekem ez is sokat ér. Nem tudom, hogy másoknak is?

●Én miért nem lehettem ott????????? azért ez durva, hogy valaki 30 év zenélés után is képes legyen annyira izgalmas koncertet adni, hogy mindenki énekeljen. Szerintem ezt hívják tudásnak. Meg hát ez ugye még zene és nem egy adag plamm plamm. És ezt mondom 15 éves fejjel.

●si crees que tu mente no debe evolucionar a horizontes mas amplios, es una lastima. cuando encontre a wagner en mi busqueda del saber, me di cuenta que habia escalado mentalmente hacia lo mas alto, ya nada me parecio igual, sobretodo despues de asistir a ver tristan e isolda.que importa lo que piensen los demas. con su musica puedes dejar a cualquiera boquiabierto. su musica es un tesoro en esta vida, y tal vez lo mas resplandeciente que exista..no lo pierdas.
●Qué gran versión ésta de Solti. Mi coro favorito, sin duda.
●essa musica me lembra a vitoria dos ALIADOS sobre Hitler.
●que cosas |que dilema me gusta bastant wagner| pero esta prohibido escucharla. ya que |jamas admitiria ante la gente que me gusta esta musica quedariacomo un excentrico y loco y yo no me consideroniguna de las 2 cosas es una lastima que que no pueda escuchar wagner sin que se burlen de mi. cualquier sugerencia bienbenida

●Creo que has entendido el comentario a tu libre antojo, pero ese ya no es mi problema.
●Por favor... qué prejuicios absurdos los tuyos... Dudo mucho que Wagner haya dedicado su obra a un minúsculo círculo de personas que creen ser entendidos... El arte no se encuadra, no se define... nace, evoluciona y se trasforma y, obviamente, es accesible a todos por igual, ya sea que le dediques 1 minuto o toda tu vida.

●A veces la publicidad hace que gente ajena a este maravilloso mundo de la lírica tararee sin querer piezas sublimes. Este fragmento de Tannhausser se utilizó para el anuncio de un coche y lo silbaba muchísima gente que por prejuicios se aleja de la ópera sin haber dedicado una sola hora a la misma. Maravilloso, emocionante, hermoso.... como todos los coros de Wagner.
