They made a continuation out of a story that was supposed to be done, and they did a darn good job at it, at least in my opinion. I don't look at minor details like "Oh, the story isn't as good" or "Oh, you're running through corridors the whole game". I look at it's gameplay, and it's just as good as ever. Granted, a FFVII remake would be nice, but I'd say Square is doing a fine job with the FF franchise.

I think it would be a great idea to rename the games. and why do ppl need to name the characters anyway? The creator obviously named Cloud, Cloud for a reason. I always keep the original. the chars who are barely mentioned would be able to be seen, rather than polygons of there faces and bodies... u cant make out much in the design
●As 'moskillz76' mentioned a FF7-2 might work but theyve kinda done that with crisis core and then the film. To be interesting it would need a new theme or enemy which could end up repetitive or become just another bad sequal. I'll keep my original FF7 copy, my PS2 and ps1 memory card thanks.
●Admittedly I would buy it and play it if this was remade. But seriously,.. if this was redone it would make the original worthless and take away everything that the classic and original one was. It would have voice acting and it would lose its appeal for a start the customising and re-naming of a character would take a hit then there would be the downloading of extra content endlessly available that would make all versions too dissimilar for anyone to recognise or compare with. Squaresoft knows.

●@XeroPRODIGY No, AC 2 through Revelations is the story of Ezio Auditore da Firenze, who is an ancestor of Altair. I think it takes place from 1480-ish to the early 15 hundreds. However, not to spoil anything, but I just started Revelations and you get to play both Ezio and Altair.
