When collecting 120 stars, Mario has the chance to visit Yoshi outside Peach's castle. He awards 100 extra lives and a brand new star jump. Footage taken directly from the Nintendo 64 version.

●Man Super Mario Sunshine gives you a sucky prize if you get all 120 shine sprites. all it was is a ending screen picture. In Mario Sunshine I think the prize they should of gave us was somethin like at pinna park, the red cannon just outside the entrance of the pinna park would have the red cannon fixed from pianta only if you collect all shine sprites, you would be able to get shot right out the cannon onto a cloud and see birdo, and talk to it and get a prize from it. Just like super mario64.
