●Joey took the groove so far. They all had a great groove but Joey just totally went funkytown on their asses.

●If you watch any video of Joey Defrancesco, he always one ups any other soloist, in terms of phrasing intensity and harmonic ideas, its incredible, john and pat are two of my favorite guitar players, but i look up to Joey as well, and Im a guitarist, He's so amazing.

●yaa he does but he does it differntly all the time check out Live @ Yoshi's you can get it on media fire online for free. he does it in like every other tune... but he'll do it between different chord tones and use different intervals... its really used for climactic purposes. its really what funk players do in their solos to build excitement he uses it all the time becuase it works so well when ur rhythm section is tuned in and ragin face. i never get tired of hearing it.

●If it happened in the moment then I would agree, but Pat Martino does that on EVERY single performance and recording of this tune. Look up Sunny on YouTube and see what I mean. I really do love when jazz musicians don't deny "lick" based solos and are not afraid to repeat themselves, but to just go into a solo (no matter who you're playing with) knowing that you are going to do that for 2, 3, 4, infinity choruses kinda takes away from "the moment". Interaction shouldn't have to be forced
