●When people comment about magic music being stupid in Macross 7, then comment how they love the original Macross (Which isn't going on here, but I have seen before!), it just makes me laugh incredibly hard, because it shows they didn't actually watch Macross, nor do they know anything about it. It's a unique series in that, instead of having the main character grow up into man, Basara is consistent from start to finish. The entire world grows up towards him instead, in fact. ●That's how alot of shows were done at the time this was around, lots of episodes, villian of the week, check. It took a while to grow on me but when it did I enjoyed every episode, made me feel like I was back in the 90s. Dynamite was good too.
●I'll admit I only watched it after finishing the superb Macross Frontier, so I was a little spoiled going in. That said, I felt like M7 had some great ideas that would have been serviced better by a shorter run. The series' 50 episodes stretched the plot out too thin in many places, having to resort to throwaway plots and "villain of the week" episodes that served no purpose in the overall story. I actually found Dynamite 7 better than M7 for that reason.

●Hate to say this to you but Robotech:Macross saga is still Macross starting story line. Just depends on which version you watch (english edit or japanese/english unedited) Both series start at the same episode (Booby trap).
●I will agree with you on Harmony Gold screwing both Macross and Robotech fans. They should have never gotten the licenses to the series but what can we do now. The company should have fallen through along time ago but are still here. Even though both Macross and Robotech are different due to story change (Robotech: Macross saga) they are both great series.
