●I wouldn't include the 90s though. I don't know if you're from the U.S. or U.K. but they were putting out some amazing music then.  Nirvana, Pearl Jam, STP, Rage, Sublime, Beck, Collective Soul, Tupac and hip hop in general, and on and on. The 90s were amazing to live through when great music was pouring out the radio every time you turned it on. For me everything started going downhill around 97-98 and has been getting worse every year.

So most 80s music consisted of digi synths, which I agree sound like shit. Analogue has a natural warmth that digital can't reproduce. The Beatles scarcely used synths but Zeppelin, Steve Miller, Pink Floyd, Emerson Lake and Palmer all made great use of analogue synths especially Floyd. I like the moogs and EMSs in particular.ARPs not so much
