●Such beautiful music. It's a shame that music like this isn't as mainstream as rap... But to look at it from another perspective, It's a very good thing it isn't that mainstream because we can appreciate lesser known pieces.
●it is beautiful but not the most beautiful. i also really liked the second piece of music

Yo-Yo Ma with Daniel Barenboim and the Chicago SO in this performance from 1997. This concerto will forever be associated with Jaqueline duPre, but YYM gives a performance that is beyond breathtaking.
●perfection!
●wow yo yo ma is truly great.
●Maybe that's because it hasn't been owned by any one person for quite some time. Kind of like "priceless art". I don't know. Inflated value is hard to gauge for one, but if it's truly worth that much now I'd be surprised.
●maybe in the 60s but i read an article last year about the davidov is worth millions!
●3.2 million is silly, where did you hear that? Pretty sure the Davidov cost 150k or so.
●He is using his Montagnana (Petunia) alot of people confuse it for his Stradivarius
●the 3.2 million dollar Davidov :D what a tone
●what cello was he using for this performance?
●Best performance of this piece, actually.
●chill. he was just saying that Ma deserves some recognition too
●I like to hear this when I want a peaceful interpretation, I listen to du Pre when I want a far more aggression, I listen to others when I want different moods.
●.ılılıll|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|llılılı. Download this video as MP3 with uGet, site: uget .in
●I love to see people so much in the moment that everything else slips away. It is only then that you can become 'one' with the music.
●27 thumbs up? Wow, can I get some thumbs up for my sexual comments too please? People did not use to talk like this. Let's sexualize it further and say he had to wipe his SPERM off his trousers after each concert. How do you like that? Now everyone praise my comment. Thank you!
●Ok , I shut up for you . But , I must say , I cannot really understand , how somebody (like you) could like AND Mrs. du Pré AND Mr.Ma . That is a mystery to me ....
●Really?? i love jackie and think she amazing... but dont you dare go off on yo yo ma he is amazing and one of my idols.. i know u have your own opinion but keep it to urself
●This touches my little heart]
●Awww yeah drop it like it's hot, Yo Yo Ma! My favourite part is 10 minutes in when he starts beatboxing.
●Excuse me , dear friend , but my highest enemy is not Mr. Ma , or you , but PRECISELY THIS IDEA OF "CYCLE" . I hate this concept beyond every limit . If du Pré is better , far much better , than Ma , and this is a fact , I am ABSOLUTELY not interested to like him because he is "from our time" or because "in the spotlight" now . What a shit !!! Hitler was ALSO "in the spotlight" in 1943 in Berlin ..... so what ??? Was he a hero or a criminal ? Don't go with this "main stream" it's addiction .
●Talent is talent you self-righteous tool. Jackie plays beautifully, no doubt, but the cycle continues and now it's Ma's time in the spotlight. Give the guy some credit and don't cloud your judgement on music like this, especially when it's played well regardless of who it's played by.
●He's good but this song is boring play old mc Donald
●Thank you . Stay in your main street ideology . Good dog .
●No one cares about your opinion
●it's 2012
●Of course , Jaquie is a pure goddess and this is a clown .

Sir Edward Elgar Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1 The Pomp and Circumstance Marches, Op. 39 are a series of five marches for orchestra composed by Sir Edward Elgar.
●so we should return to the ethnic makeup of the 40s then?
●Sure you can have respect for Britain and it's history, but seriously.. Nothing proud about Britain anymore, it's turned into a multicultural cesspit, where it's racist to refer to the blackbook in Scotland yard -.-
●musica do meu casamento
●one does not simply dislike this song
●OOOOOO YEEEEEEEAAAAAHHHH
●i think this is a great piece that does sound great @ graduation
●My experience is that there are many more people who have an affection for Britian (as I do) rather than a loathing of it. But at any rate, if it is the will of the majority of Britains to have P&C as the national anthem, sounds good to me. But we in America will probably keep on using the melody as our "national"graduation march.
●I've always been rather confused at the American attitude towards the British. On the one hand George Washington purposefully sabotaged the English language in an attempt to create an American form of spelling as well as a dialect by 'putting on' a drawling accent. This is all well and good but is in contrast to the colours of the USA flag and My country its of thee and so on. Its just rather odd. Seems to be a mixture of honouring and debasing Britain. But yes perhaps your right.
●Well, it would, but we would still use "The Star-Spangled Banner" as the national anthem. BTW, good luck to anybody who woud use TSSB for a merry-go-round tune. It's hard enough to sing - it would make for a strange merry-go-round song!
●I see your point. But remember that your present anthem "God Save the Queen" was the melody for an American patriotic song, "My Country Tis of Thee" and "GSTQ" didn't seem to be debased at all. The heck with what we Americans do
●I respect your answer. But should you care what Americans do with P&C? Just do it, as we say here. It would make a glorious anthem, I agree. Good luck with your campaign.

●My British teacher played this at my graduation :)
●I understand your complaint and actually I think many English people are flattered that the Americans choose an English composition for the graduation march. The issue is in that we feel that it devalues what many consider to be the English national anthem. It would be as if we started using the US national anthem on funfair merry-go-rounds in the UK. Every time you went to listen to it on-line, the top comment was "merry-go-rounds brought me here"; that would be irritating wouldn't it?
●So it's not so much of an disgrace rather mild annoyance. Personally I would have preferred this to be our national anthem because the only other alternative Jerusalem is not secular enough. Referring to England as a Land of Hope and glory is in my opinion more appropriate than a church Hymn that's been glorified a little too much. But doing so would cause confusion. Playing the English anthem at graduation would not be proper after all..
●Allow me to explain. Essentially England is not allowed to be England. England must be the UK or Britain otherwise its seen as racist. England has to pander to Scotland, Wales and Ireland and thus does not have a national anthem nor a national parliament. Because of the Americans overuse of this song we can no longer use it as a possible anthem choice. There is an ongoing campaign to get England a government and a anthem as well as to celebrate St Georges day which is not a national holiday.
●seeing the many comments of why some one came to this video is very diverse... i personally came here just because i'm a big fan of any kind of march, from Elgar to good ol John Phillip Sousa they are all great pieces!!
●Anyone else in band or orchestra hate playing this with a burning passion?
●macho man? graduation? not me. i think of donald duck as "noah" every time.
●the beginning sounds like a chase scene on Tom & Jerry
●Please answer me this: Why are the British commenters on this site so upset that Americans use P&C as a graduation march? What's wrong with using this magnificent music as a background for the happiest day in the lives of so many young people? What's the disgrace in that?
●I heard this song a year ago today for my 4 year degree. Now I have a career, priorities, and all that jazz. I was so happy to be done with school that day... Now I miss it. Graduating from college took something from me that I had had since I was 5. School. Then you realize that it's time to act like an adult and start a new path.
●Does this remind anyone eles of the Donald Duck thing from Fantasia?
●Thank you ronharper469. That's the ultimate piece of advice someone can give another person - and it's 100% true.
●so we should return to the ethnic makeup of the 40s then?

●A truly beautiful piece of music. I am at once filled with both sorrow and pride when ever I hear it.
●Anyone here from Mantlegen's video?
●It brings tears into my eyes for almost 30 years already, so beautiful.
●Thanks. Just beautiful.
●This piece always gives me goosebumps!
●they played this to a friends recent funeral and it brings back sad memories. Very hard to listen to and not cry. A great piece of music written by a great English composer. God Bless.

This "piece of art" has brought everyone together, long gone memories of your relatives have been thought of and many words have been said. This is the meaning of life as @Tridosu mentioned we are all 1 i have read a lot of books about religion most of them that we should treat someone in the same way you want you to be treated. I hope War,Gas and everything that degrades us will soon be simplified.
●Once, when Elgar had been very depressed and was about to give it all up and write no more music, Jaeger had visited him and encouraged him to continue composing. He referred to Ludwig van Beethoven, who had a lot of worries, but wrote more and more beautiful music. "And that is what you must do", Jaeger said and he sang the theme of the second movement of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 8 "Pathétique". elgar ten started nimrod :)
●Isn't that just communism?
●This tune was my dads favourite, i remember sitting outside the room where he used to do his tailoring and listening to this, now he is gone, but the memory of him and music still lives on in my heart. Also it reminds me of how proud i am to be english.
●i heard this live and jizzed in my pants, true story.
●I am visiting one of Britain's most magnificent stately homes in Aug to hear this being played by the English Symphony orchestra while a single solitary Spitfire plane soars overhead - for my mum's 60th birthday. I am crying already just thinking about it! x
●You are not stupid. Your brilliance blinds you. Keep feeling your way along. I wish the best for you. I would be much more secure with my childrens' future if you were the mainstream. This song is remarkably beautifull.
●I'm just going to listen to the song and silently >feel.
●He is SUCH a Sir, it isn't even funny. Where does Talent like that come from? Aside from glorious, glorious music.
●Not exactly. If there's a cello solo in this song, as there is in the story, then i wouldn't assume as such. But since there is none, I assume that anyone looking for one either *wants* a cello solo in this song (or any song), or has read a story that explicitly states there *is* one where there isn't. Quick, grab my tuxedo! LOGIC!
●That is irrelevant to what I asked. (But yes.)
●can I assume you read Una Nota Dolce as well? I swear, my eyes are tearing up right now.

●1, I was answering to a comment by a chap that wants to empty Britain of cultural minorities, its completely against our way of life, which is why I suggested he move to Germany, 2, its a name, I notice yours is 'flintstone' very grown-up!! 3, where'd the imperialism thing come from, did you just want to get it off your chest or something?
●Ok so to the person who said that we all want genocide: firstly, nobody will take your comment seriously when you make such grossly exaggerated and obviously wrong statements. Secondly, we take you even less seriously when you go by the name "drunkest100". I mean really mate, just how cool do you think you are? Thirdly, Imperialism was the way of the world in years past and i think we all now realise this was wrong. Lets be proud of who are now and how far we have processed from the past
●Reminds you of a time when Europe was white.
●Genocide is what the likes of you want. If you want that kind of society, move to Germany where you so obviously belong!
●My robotic friend is toleratethis2011. I made points: immigrants here consist mainly of people who have a right to be here because of the Commonwealth or European Union; the majority of these people are working for a crust and trying to better themselves using 1st world opportunities; we are showing much less hospitality to said people than they have shown to the thousands of British immigrants in their countries 'stealing jobs' - double standard much? Most of all, why the hell not?
●You made no points. Just a bunch of angry ad hominem attacks, and now it's clear that most of your interaction on YouTube involves calling people "robots". Do you have paranoid schizophrenia? Do you believe there's some vast robotic conspiracy against you?
●Every British man and woman please fly the Union Jack with pride! It does not mean you are racist it means you are British and like the Americans you should be proud of YOUR nation!! Our soldiers fought and died for the Union Jack. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
●Yeah, robotic replies which make no counter argument to my own points really strengthen your argument.
●It's people like you that deserve to be wiped from the face of the earth.
●Yeah, your rage and vulgarity really strengthen your argument.
●Well said.
●What's up with all these xenophobic comments?
●You people do know this is a video of a song!
●Question, does that include conquered colonies as well? (i.e. canada, India, australia, new zealand...etc)
●you really hear every language in the world but English on the streets of London
●Okay now I just think you're a robot. You keep saying the same thing over and over without addressing what I'm saying. I am clearly outnumbered on this video, however, which is a pretty massive chunk of hypocrisy. If Britain is the land of hope and glory then WHY THE FUCK do you think people are coming here? TO ENJOY THE WEATHER?! YOU'RE THE BIGGEST BUNCH OF ARSEHOLES I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS ON YOUTUBE.
●White British made up 85% of our country way back in 2001. They have been allowing over half a million into our country every single year since then. They already make up over 20% of our country. We absolutely have to stop immigration, and begin a repatriation programme to get the numbers back down to a reasoanble level.
●the best part 1:06
●Comments on here do not represent British people. The BNP and EDL are a pathetically small group of inward, racist and largely stupid bunch. The British people are fair, just and tolerant of decent, law-abiding people.
●For the continuation of British pride, vote BNP.
●Believe me there are many English women over here who would gladly take you up on that offer...GOOD LUCK sir !!
●people don't want them there, and they have to prove themselves as a good workforce to members of the EDL, BNP, UKIP (or just plain fascists) etc.
●But we are not outnumbered and we never will be. Who cares where they come from? If they work and aren't a nuisance to society, or getting arrested, then they deserve the same treatment as someone who was born here. What exactly is so detestable about people from other countries also living in Britain? I could understand the upset if they were illegally here and being dead weights, but the fact is that most of them are not. Most of them do even better work than the Brits because they sense that
●We are not responsible for something that happened centuries ago. Also, we have a choice, being outnumbered in your own country is something that happens when you lose a war, it is not something you deliberately choose for your own race in your own country.
●Tempting! Safer would be to have an English woman "adopt" me!
Watch the whole ceremony from beginning to end in this series. The music for the bridal procession is the "Imperial March" by Edward Elgar
●C'mon. do you invite ex family members to family events?
●I didn't read the inntro and was expecting John Williams' Imperial March. Would've been closer to Brittain's reality.
●They really had the Abbey decorated beautifully with all the flowers. Prince William's wedding really lacked romance, sporting maple trees and no flowers. If they could spend £40,000 on security, they most certainly could have filled the Abbey with flowers, at least a few. It was just lacking in so many ways. Sarah's dress is extremely lovely.
●How awful. As people in their country starve for food, they can afford to spend so luxury on such foolishness. Gago!
●Dear God, the music is ghastly! It sounds like a child plunking on the organ!
●What was the opening fanfare called?
●The Duchess of York by far had one of the most elegant and stunning wedding gowns ever worn for a royal wedding!
●I wish this royal couple would get back together... they were meant to be!
●The Duchess of York did that for a reason.. As she explained it years later. " I walked up the to meet Prince Andrew as a commoner... When she walked back down with Andrew the flowers where gone and I had a tiara instead to reflect my new status as a Princess and Duchess..." if that clears it up...
●Agree, the flowers took away from how beautiful the dress was, I think they should have taken the flowers off her head and put them in the boquet
●And I'm sure David was amused with the first of the bridesmaids!
●Prince William is so cute
●Wills at 3.15 LOL
●This is my favorite royal wedding to watch.
●William is a cute pageboy
●I wouldn't be a bit surprised if these two still loved eachother. I think a bunch of other crap just got in the way. What a beautiful day to remember! :) Thanks for posting.
●Para mim um dos mais bonitos vstidos de noiva... lindo...
●i like the dress, but she shouldn't have wore that big flower bouquet on her head.
●What a pity it all ended in tears. They looked so suited to one another.
●kate's aisle music was so much better.
●LOL
●The day you were born, the world became a better place! Please believe that your self esteem is not based upon another's opinion of you. Your self-esteem is based upon what you believe of yourself! Change your thoughts and your world will change. There are millions of women supporting you! You can do anything you put your mind to doing. I believe in you Sarah - Keep believing in yourself and your dreams! I wish I could teach you what I've learned.
●o mais belo vestido na minha opinião!
●I only wish that Kate's train had been a little longer, but other than that, it was perfection. All of these brides look beautiful on their wedding days: Diana, Sarah, Sophie, and Kate. It was nice to see their unique personalities and stages in life reflected in their weddings.
●I remember reading at the time that Sarah had requested a blue carpet instead of the usual red one.

●This is grand!!
●I see the flags of South Africa, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Ireland, places from all over the world here. This is our most nationalistic celebration and we invite everyone in as friends to share in our celebration of hope, justice and fairness, regardless of nationality, creed or colour. That is the nobility of the last night of the Proms, that is why we call Britain Great. As an Ex-Pat Brit it gives me a real sense of pride.
●14mead, I wouldn't worry about it. Britain is and always will be a grand nation in its own right. America's military and economic ascendancy is largely the illusion of the biggest spender at the bar, whose spending is a credit-card binge. We won't stop until we run ourselves into the ground, but after that, perhaps there will be a multi-polar world, where more than just one country is valued.
●thankkksssss buddy! Muckkkk
●waw. thank you my friend! I am sad this days. your comment makes me feel good. Greetings!
●Long live the british empire and the Imperial Federation ideal
●i respect you so much =)
●Which one?
●GREAT SCOTT!!!!!!!!!!!!
●I discovered what it is. It's the flag of the Kingdom of Lovely, the unrecognized micronation.
●I'm not British. I also don't consider it worthy of bragging when my city was the home of a mass murderer. Now who's stupid and ignorant?
●I beg Your pardon????? My city is one of the most modern cities ( in all senses) in the Hole World. First of all on civil rights!! you ignorant stupid british
●The city of a thuggish mass murderer?
●And jealous.
●Wave ALL the flags! :DDD
●Thumbs up if you think this should be the English national anthem! Also, I'm not English - I'm Irish and this really should be. It's proud, it's triumphant just like the British Empire used to be!
●I hate all this damn bobbing up and down. Love the music.
●Greetings from Mexico!! This has to be one of the best pieces of music ever made!
●This is so nice but .... Humans need a collective threat to be cohesive. We might never see this level of cohesiveness again given that the threat of war is on a seperatist or terrorist subculture level. All we have to go on is historic.
●Almost as awesome as the Spitfire. -Fellow American.
●I swear if i could meet you for real i would deal with you with my fists you sick little moron. I LIVE IN THE UK AND IF YOU EVER HAVE THE BALLS TO MEET ME JUST LET ME KNOW
●all you haters can lick my great big British bumhole XXX

From concert in England.
●Just because someone doesnt overtly display their talents doesnt mean they dont have them. Did you know that Lady Gaga attended NYU's Tisch? Did you know that she has extensive piano training and practically started when she was 3? She could well have went into classical performance (which is more of a niche) or went into pop; she went into pop to pursue her own dreams. I dont think its right for you to denounce someone without even knowing of their accomplishments. Read her bio.
●Absolutely ravishing.
●a lot of people have made a cover of this song... they are all pretty old too but they are still good songs :D
●wouldnt it feel over-used/heard? i mean hearing these classics through out 2 centuries will make it irritating... imo :D
●When I first started learning the violin, I was taught to move as I played in order to avoid tension/stiffness. It's something I now do without thinking about it. Interesting question, though. Seem to recall that in 'Hilary and Jackie' (film based on life of Jacqueline du Pre), there is a scene where Hilary moves her body while playing her flute (as she had been used to), but is then warned not to by her new tutors. Can't remember the whys/wherefores though!
●korean!!!
●She is only a child here but she still pays from the heart. Classical music is THE ONLY music that will live forever. No one will remember Lady GAGA (she makes me want to throw up) in 100 years but Elgar and Sarah will still be remembered.
●Yeah!!!
●I could listen to this AND Lady Gaga's "Telephone" over and over. It's nothing to do with our standards; just different methods of expression.
●I'm one of the few teens that love classical music... this is awesome :)
●same here (: i loved it
●anybody find this because of "la corda d'oro" ??? (great musical anime) ^ ^ Just want to know if there someone like me ^ ^
●I don't think so.The world & it's music is changing all the time but thanks to us smart humans, we are able to recreate, imitate & record the old stuff so it lives on.Just because Gaga has millions of views, doesn't mean anything,if Elgar's stuff was constantly in the media it would have lots of views too.We still have absolute gems these days, & the older you are the more great stuff you got to see!! I for one, am thankful for youtube cos I never would have found out this piece
●Very beautiful. She is a very soulful player.
●Orchestral version of the work is in this same tone. I find it better sounding this way.
●wonder why she played it a whole tone higher? I thought it was the recording at first...but I looked at her fingers and she's actually playing it starting at g# anybody know of a different edition?
●Amen nebechadnezzar, the world has indeed bog standardised itself
●oh.. it means love greeting?
●I understand now. im sorry.(: wont happen again.
●you maam are IGNORANT! Who are you to start something here? Your the ignorant one! Who are you to be even talking to me? Have I attacked you? Do i even know you?
●You,sir,are ignorant.
●Haha. Umad?
●you DONT get it! I dont need to elaborate!
●lol. Did I insult you? Im debunking your point that "it takes talent to recognize talent". I recognize she's a talent. How come Im not a talent? How come "you" are not a talent? May you elaborate?
