●To clear things up completely. Lupe's crew called up Pete Rock to use TROY for Lupe's project. Pete Rock said "Yes" only if he was "included in the project". Well, PR doesn't actually own the rights to TROY due to a sampling clearance with the original track, so the song can't be used by Lupe. Due to miscommunication and label bullshit, Lupe had to remake the beat from scratch, in which PR didn't even know about. PR's upset because Lupe remade the track without even telling him about it.

●To clear things up with the controversy between TROY and Lupe's new song.. The problem was NOT Lupe's rapping. It was the fact that his producer used the same sample as TROY.. and completely ruined it. The musical genius that Pete Rock implemented into this song is bounds above what Lupe's producer did with the sample. And so, Pete Rock felt as though it was disrespected. Pete Rock did not mean to DISS Lupe at ALL.
