●The comments on this thread crack me up. Obviously some of the comments are from people that have never seen ATV sand drag racing. Some of you don't have a fucking clue. If you think an extended front end is for looks, why don't you tell the tell the top fuel dragsters that ha ha ha! There has been a lot of r&d behind this sport, these bikes are running low 3.s in 100 yards @ over 100 mph and will soon be in the 2's! It's a rush for sure.

●I don't know much about them, but I would assume that the extended front end provides a longer wheelbase, which would allow it to go in a straight line much better. Keeping the rear wheels as close as possible under the drivers ass would make for maximum weight on the rear tires, helping them to dig in for the most traction.

●this is a very old video of my friends bike, it is a 7mm stock cylinder. if i remember right that pass was not on the spray, it made right around 110hp to the wheels on motor. The chassis is +7 out back and +24 out front. the rider is the builder of the bike and motor as well. I have more video's of some 4 strokes that he's built more recently in my gallery.

●Youve got a real good point there, but i think the reason is traction. with the long front end, even with minimal weight, it creates somewhat of a ballast, allowing more weight to be subjected to the rear wheels, resulting in a harder launch.

●I have a 2010 TRV 550 with only 4,643 km`s blow 2 engines, first one the the Rod Bearing was defective (solds lots of them and NO RECALL I was told 4 others came in like mine at the dealer) second engine seized up and Oil was changed on time and it was OK. ●I have a stock rmz 250f and i beat raptor 700's up a sand hill. the only quad close is a ltz 400 with paddle tires and I'm running dirt tires. I let honda 4ooex quads half way up the hill and chase them up and still beat them. dirtbikes are just lighter and quicker.
