●I've been working with Canon 3CCD HDV camcordrs and recently bought the Canon XF100. I must however say that I was very impressed Legria S21. I've managed to get some brilliant footage with this tiny gem and simply love it's short DOF. Great for taking on hiking tours and travelling. The "touch" screen needs a little getting used too but it's great for creating a smooth "rack focus". Depending on what you wish to use it for, I would highly recommend it a value for money camcorder.

With the hfs100 when I use the remote to focus all I have to do is hold the button down on the remote. It would glide through focus. With the s200 to focus w/ the remote you have to keep pressing the button to focus it works in steps. Do you know if a third party plug in remote would solve this problem. Thanks..

●Your comments are appreciated. Sharing how I see things is what inspires me. I'm a bit of a dreamer. I go out to look for those pictures I saw in my mind, spend time searching for the right music and it all comes together. I refer to video as "capturing time in motion" as apposed to a photograph that "captures a moment in time". Both artistic in their own rights. I however prefer the motion video offers. Just dream, then go out and do it. The rest will take care of itself.

●AVCHD is a compressed format of "FULL HD". When editing I used Neoscene (I suggest you visit the CINEFORM website for more info) to convert it to an HD format for editing in Adobe Premier Pro CS3. The Quality is excellent. I then simply converted it to a QT Movie with 1280 X 720 pixels and uploaded it onto YOUTUBE.

●What is better, the Legria or the 7D? Depends on what you wish to do. I've never worked with the 7D neither have I to date seen footage taken with the 7D. I suppose it depends on what one wishes to do. The greatest advantage of the 7D I would say is that it offers one the ability to use interchangeable lenses. I have heard that the 7D will give better 'low light" results. It is a lost more expensive than the Legria, therefore that in itself tells one that it is a step or two above the Legria.

●You are correct. The Velbon CX-480 is a lightweight tripod suited for smaller camcorders. Considering the Legria's performance it makes a great "standy by" camcorder for professional wedding videography. It would therefore be a plus if Canon complimented this amazing camcorder to be used on larger, sturdier tripods without the need to remove the shoe when switching batteries. My comment regarding such was based on the using the Legria on heavier tripods. Enjoy your Legria, excellent choice!
●@JonaraDV "To remove the battery one unfortunately needs to remove the tripod shoe from the camcorder." I think it depends on the type of tripod you're using. I use the Velbon CX-480 and I have no trouble changing batteries with the camcorder firmly attached to the tripod.
