●Yeah that sounds like a fair call, You like jeeps I like LR's, they both have different uses off road. Sounds like you do more rock crawling in the States witch jeeps being smaller/more compact are probably well suited to where as in Australia people like outback touring and need to take a lot of equipment/supplies and some people tow boats/caravans/camper trailers plus a tinny on the roof of the car witch is where big but still very off road capable 4wds like LR's shine, Take it easy now mate:)

●I find it so funny when people compare Defenders with jeeps, but then again, most of these people have never had the opportunity to take a land rover off road and feel its capabilities. The Defender is not known as the worlds best off roading vehicle from stock for no reason. I guarantee you, out of all the jeeps made and all the defenders made, there will be more landys on the road to this day. I should know because I own a 1989 90 and it drives like new!

●I'm a bit confused here, So I'm dumb enough to buy a Land Rover? - a reliable, capable, robust off road car (one that doesn't catch fire). Can't see why that's dumb. I'm going by facts here mate, Jeep's are known for catching on fire, there has been recalls, if you don't know this I suggest maybe you are dumb. Glad you think jeeps bursting into flames is funny, when purchasing one in the first place is the biggest joke of all. Quick tip, if you buy a jeep pick the fire extinguisher option.

●Not a big fan of 40's but do like 70 serious LC's, its cool that you said get a Toyota instead of get a Heep, sorry Jeep. I didn't think Toyota LC's where liked in Canada/the States. but its true what you said UK good for LR's, Jeeps good for Canada/the US, Toyota worldwide. Being in Australia We have a fair few Toyota's, LR's and Jeeps and I think aftermarket parts are reasonable easy to find for all, but the cost I don't know, lets just say breaking parts in any vehicle can be very expensive!!

●maybe the 4 wheel drive is jsut a trick AWD system and nothing more. Many companies label their AWD systems as 4x4 even when theyre not. The range rover actually locks and transmits power to both front and back full time

The problems I was eluding to about german, british, italian cars are the electrical problems, malfunctioning parts which have nothing to do with gasoline americans use. you can't make cars like Japanese.
●The Panda front wheels stopped spinning while the back wheels were still going. It was either in AWD mode using its 'special viscous differential' or they forgot to engage the 4wd.
●Americnas have a lot of problems with European cars as the engines are a lot more technologically advanced, producing a lot more power/displacement and the low-grade petrol (gasolene) they use. Do some research.
●What the hell are you talking about? Both cars have fuil-time 4 wheel drive with differentials. Older cars had part-time 4WD where you could switch between the two, but without differentials. So what do you think the difference is between AWD and "4x4", as it appears that you do not know what you are on about.
