●@macolele, good question. Lanna is closer to Lao thanto Thai. There are differences between Isaan and Lanna. 'Delicious' in Thai is, 'aroi dee', in Chiang Mai says, 'Lum dee', Isaan, 'Saap ee lai'. In Thai, 'don't know' is, 'mai ruu' but in Chiang Mai and Isaan/Laos, it is 'baw huu'. Rayong Province has its own dialect too, so a woman in Thai will say hello as 'sawasdee kha', in Rayong, it is 'sawasdee kha eep', in Chiang Mai 'sawasdee jao' and in Isaan, it can be 'sawasdee kha der kha der'.
