NO because we are not perfect and arguing about it makes our culture look like idiots. HULA it is and has always been a way to convey to people a story in Hawaii ... that's our culture its not about the STEPS necessarily....There are also two main positions of a hula dance - either sitting (noho dance) or standing (luna dance).

●If anything, Brie is definitely a Tahitian expert. She'll definitely school anyone in Tahitian, and yes! she does know her hula though different. (I certainly don't bend my arm and wrist as much as she does...I was taught to have my body be geometric with the ground, and that my arms must be parallel to the ground with only a slight bend.)
●She's Tahitian; I've met her. She may dance hula slightly differently than what you know (which is different from what I know), but don't knock her. They do teach hula slightly differently around the world and other Polynesians (I'm Hawaiian myself, so poly's other than Hawaiian) tend to have their own interpretation of hula. You'll notice some dance with Cook Island hands, which I definitely do not use but I recognize that this exists.
