●After looking at visuals I can only imagine how hard this piece is to play!
●Someone mentioned some months ago that they would have loved to have lived in Bach's time just to hear this piece live, and based on what I know and have read...no you don't. It's good to read about, and educate oneself about how he lived his life, how difficult it was, and how he was able to write such incredible music that wasn't appreciated then as it is now, and the reader is able to know all these things while enjoying modern day luxuries.

●Think about this. Musicians composed this beautiful pieces for the whole orchestra 300 years ago without any technology, and people these days make crappy songs for 1 person and they don't even have to know anything about music, for they can do it on the PC in 20 minutes. Just sad.

●I learnt to play this on the local church pipe organ near where I lived when I was small... damn great fun it was playing it at my cousin's wedding sitting next to the organist after the vows had been affirmed... it was worth it just to see about 70-80 odd guests with extremely shocked expressions on their faces... expecting some cheap love song for newlywed exit music... instead they had to put up with ten minutes of this...

●Glenn Gould is just the best Bach player of all time. Today there are said to be great "Bach-players" like for example Angela Hewitt or David Fray. I fact, they are nothing compared to Gould. He was and still remains the only pianist who brings all human emotions into Bach's music, from joy, passion, humor and irony to sadness, fear, hate and despair. His playing is moving and captivating, it touches your heart. Yeah, Bach's music is so much more than boring and mathematic....
