My second test of my brand new Canon EOS 550D. The first clips are raw-footage captured in 1920x1080 25f, auto ISO with a Canon 50mm USM f1.4 lens. I captured this clips before I found out that it was

●Line skipping will be there but not as much as the d800 from what I read because the d800 has to come down from like 36mp and the d4 has to come down from 16mp or so. I also read that the d4 is better in low light.

●this dslr is great! Uncompressed HDMI. 422 color output, not found on any dslr, so far. and it's like 3 cameras in one; full frame, APS-H, and micro4/3 wit its crop modes. Meaning your single lense has 3 full quality zooms. Less money on lenses. I just hope it doesn't line skip like I've read, and the moire artifacts are no where to be found.

●Sure the D5100 has three more focus points but it's not always about specs (within reason of course). I was torn between this and the 60D and leaning the way of this camera. I went to my local camera shop and held both of them, I went with the 60D. It just felt much better to me, fit my hand and a bit heavier or more solid. I thought if it felt more comfortable in my hand I would use it more. They are both capable cameras and really it's just personal preference.

●You can manually adjust the focus in Video mode. But you can't manually adjust the inbuilt mic. Well you can but it's settings are limited to Low, Medium or High audio sensitivity while the Canon EOS 600D uses a slider to adjust audio. If your wanting to take pictures mainly and wouldn't mind a lacking audio system for your videos then go for a Nikon. If your wanting to record videos and don't shoot pictures in low light then go for a Canon.
●for me for those people who want a compare the d60 canon with nikon d5100,,,,,go for the d5100 with 11 dots of Auto Focus and good for the macro shots and video quite enough HQ, canon d60 good but 9 dots Auto Focus but not good for macro ..but good for video with enough quality.. but if some one want a camera for video just buy a camera just for video and dont get the photo cameras just buy a camcorder,,,,.

●I'm going to give this a shot. I love the way my 5D shoots video, it's very cinematic, but my 7D shoots footage that seems like that of a camcorder.
●It's called "follow focus". You have to do it manually ; it requires some experience and a good lens to do it well and smoothly. No 'autofocus' solution for filmmaking.

●the sliders you see in the middle are those from the "portrait profile" ; mine are all the way left on the "-" (except for color tone in the middle). You can select any profile and change it with mine ; it will work.

●great video! i wana ask some questions :3 I have a 600D and when i film in dark areas my video ends up looking real grainy and for some reason not as sharp as yours seem to be in dark lit locations. I've tried settings like the ones you have written down in your description but for some reason it looks alright on the lcd of the camera but when i watch it on the computer it seems to be a lot more grainy and just not as good as you seem to have in this video. Oh and i have the same 18-55 lens

●that is actually a lens issue man. DSLR's have full HD but you just need Good Quality Glass. i recommend anything zeise. as well as a good 50mm those will greatly improve you quality and don't film (under) fluorescent light.
●i like your end effect, thats my question, Editing software, im on a budget an ended up with the Avid Studio($150), would i be able to *Layer my footage/effects in post production for that professional *Film look, are should i Opt out for another Editing Brand costing alot more, i was told Avid Studio is capable of performing as good as Final Cut Pro considering Avid is the maker of both. ●You have to put it to 'video mode' using the mode select dial at the top, then press the 'menu' button, select 'movie exposure' and set to 'manual'. That should do it.
●I think for that you have to hit Menu and then change 'Movie Exposure' from Auto to manual where it gives you full control of aperture, shutter and iso. The 600D and 60D are a little different from the other canon DSLR's as they have a dedicated movie mode. The 7D and 5D Mk II both just have a button that will let you record video in ANY mode.
●hi i have the 60d and decided to make a short film with jpeg rather than raw. ill make all adjustments in camera like wb iso, exposure etc..i read that best settings would be sharpness down, contrast all the way down, saturation down 2 stops..would this only be relevant to those filming in RAW to get better post production grading or would you still get a good image filming in jpeg?
●when you switch to video mode, push the menu button, you should be able to switch it into manual exposure mode from there.

●I think you forgot to mention that you're using a lens that has a 1.2 aperture :)
