●Both my bros in the military prefer the M4/M16 and I personally like the M16 and the AK was built for ruggedness and reliability while the M16 was built for lighter weight and for a NATO round and was built for accuracy so they cant be fairly compared. It is like comparing a .22 with a shotgun the shotgun is gonna have more stopping power while the .22 is more accurate and can shoot faster its just personal preference they cant be fairly compared.

The advantages of the AK have been investigated to death and are thoroughly understood: more power from the higher caliber means more devastation in terms of stopping power and destruction to concrete targets. Reliability means you can drag it through sand, overwork it, abuse it, throw it in a lake and fish it out a week later, and it will still fire. NO other gun is built for such conditions. The AK does what it was built for with NO competition.

People should compare a Nation made weapon VS another Nation made weapons and not with a soviet made rifle that any nation is not using anymore. He is a police officer and he was shot while on duty and the bullet went in above his knee, exited behind it, then re-entered his calf and traveled all the way down the calf muscle and exited above the ankle. He was fortunate that no bone or tendons were hit. They took his graft from his hip and the poor guy can't even get out of bed. I can't believe they sent him home the day of his graft.

●alot of people dont know what they are talking about. The AR is great and if thats what you want, GET IT. AK fanboys will be assholes but at the end of the day, a trained man on an AR will be better than an un-trained man on an AK.
●IMO ar15s are much more ergonomic, far more accurate and have a lot more accessory options for optics etc. I have a piston AR, it hasn't failed once... The gas block at the front of the rifle gets very filthy though. I feel like, with a piston AR, the grime moves from the action, to the gas block. Only concern is carrier tilt, but after your buffer tube gets worn down to a certain point, it appears to not get any worse.
●Well, I went ahead and purchased a DPMS Oracle. Even though it is "entry-level" it was considerably more than a WASR AK. That said, the WASR is just as prone to difficulties out of the box as anything else. I spent a LONG time deciding and researching what would be the best mag-fed battle rifle for me based on the limited $ I had for the purpose. Even with the "reliability issues", the smaller bullets, and everything else, the AR platform seemed superior.

●For whom looking for Ar I really recommend buy a piston upper then build or buy lower to save money , I bought my adam arms upper for 539 then build lower for 239 complete for less than 800 way to go , I love my piston Ar , I also have an DI Ar love to hate but can get rid off either bc it's my first tactical
