●i love this!
●Thanks.
●What the others are saying is true. I've been casually self teaching for a matter of months now, and it's going very well. That being said though, you've either got a knack for it or you don't. Good luck!
●I will,my son taught himself to play and he`s always nagging me to try.
●go ahead and learn, it's not as hard as it seems. i once knew a girl who could play piano extremely well and she only practiced for 30 minutes about twice a week. so dont worry about forcing yourself to practice a ton every day if you do decide to learn
●It took me 2 hours and i can play it. (mid-way through grade 4)
●few seconds earlier I was at a very beautiful place, hope you all were too.
●my favorite "classical" piece :) o thank you so much
●beautiful.
●"Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life."
●To give him his dues, Lang Lang (who's playing) does play this very well, although some of his interpretations are diabolical.
●in less than one year, you will play this piece if you begin now (and play every day)
●beautiful

●Yeah, it's not in the movie. It just has the depressing sound the soundtrack does.
●So do I, but I don't think it's in that movie. It's all very similar music though!
●I always think of In Bruges whenever I listen to this song
●Oh my gosh yes!
●I little haunting

Erik Satie / Gnossienne #1
●lana del rey in this mofoooooo
●Too fast and too loud for my taste, but I kind of like the heavyness at the part @ 0:52. I didn't though to play it that way.
●The touch of a sledgehammer.
●excellent!
●How does one measure feeling?
●That's what it is all about, isn't it?
●this song tool hands down, 10 minutes to learn
●Excellent rendition. Beautiful!
●Get yourself a better microphone.
●Way too fast! Put some more feeling in it..
●My father taught me to play this song when I was 6 years old. It was the first I learned to play.
●I'm not a professional musician, so I don't have much criticism. However, I think you just made my night.
●I just listened to this song from an album from the historical musical instrument museum in Berlin, it was on a strange instrument called the Glass Harmonica, the Album's name roughly translating to "The Sound of Glass". I really like your version.
●I wish I could play this well.
●Rather haunting sound.
●idiots complaining about such a beautiful piece of music! and how its played do better urselves or shut up....................nitpicking losers
●terribly played
●I am agreed with U
●fermer les yeux et écouter...<3
●I know a lot of people have said this, but yes, the amount of pedal is too distracting. If the player had left it down once or twice as a deliberate effect it would really have caught my attention, but the consistency and length of the pedalling disturbs the clarity of those wonderful grace notes. (which for my taste are too short and angular, but at least I can understand the interpretative purpose behind them).
●This...this reminds me of a fortune teller...or magic...either way, this was yet another stunning song by Erik Satie. :)
●sensetional...

●He commented before explaining that his sheet music erroneously had three notes instead of two.
●It's dark ..but gorgeous..there's just something about it, the way the chords dance with each other. I wonder what was going through the composer's mind..
●Shouldn't the note at 0:15 be tied? Therefore playing it TWICE instead of THRICE? ...I'm just following the score here.
●Did anyone played this for their Grade 6 exam two years ago?
●lmaoooooo
●is this a joke? :D cause I dont know how to react to this one
●when does erik release his new cd?
●Thank You....
●Mr nobody :)
●to be all for it or impassionate and sad :-)
●No, it' sad.
●amazing performance...just amazing
●impressionism was awesome
●This is from Mr. Nobody
●Did anyone play Challenge of the ancient empires like 20 years ago?
●I'm a bystander sitting on a wooden chair, in a rainy day looking outside a window. It is all so beautifully white and gray. The raindrops are tears I can't expel.
●This song isn't sad. It's stoned.
●why, so dark !! i'm listening to this while winds blows out of my window, cigaret seems almost dead in my hand.. why this melody acts like poison in my veins ? oh! H.P lovecraft, you seem so tired, a cup of tea ? ....
●Agree. They sound quite dark, just like were composed by a lost soul. In fact it's sadness in a pure state.
●great playing...

Satie Gnossienne 2
●These are seriously probably my favorite piano pieces.
●yes sit down and dont rush its perfection, unless you find a funny car piece
●That's Gérard de Nerval,French poet.
●Yah....that sounds right. I used to have a massive collection of Saties work, but i don;t know what happened to it. But that Bojan guy is the only dude who plays his music "correctly" . Everyone else plays him wayyyyy too fast.
●it should be bojan gorisek
●beautiful..
●Erik Satie got me into classical, about 2 months ago
●Who is the pianist. This is the best execution of this song I have heard thus far, and I can tell from the style that the same pianist performed some of the other movements, but who?
●Thanks, now I know who the Simpsons are referring to in the episode "Lisa Gets an A"
●Yeah, like the person before me said, that was Gérard de Nerval, not Satie. I read his novel "Sylvie", it was excellent ;) I kind of don't see Satie as someone who could have a pet lobster, it just doesn't seem like him... but, who knows...
●I looked it up on the internet, it was the French writer Gérard de Nerval -- here's the quote from Wikipedia: "Nerval had a pet lobster named Thibault which he took for walks in the Palais Royal gardens in Paris on the end of a blue silk ribbon." Awesome! I think he and Satie would have gotten along :-).
●im pretty sure it was Salvador Dali the artist who walked his lobster around.
●More like Erik Satire.
●The speed is good, it musn't be played faster.
●no, he was too sad to be seen around town
●That was Gerard de Nerval.
●, I agree, and I also think that comparing works in a 'this is better' way, is really stupid.....
●Don't try to compare two masterpieces and say one is better. I find that the Gnossiennes are much more haunting then the Gymnopedies, which are uplifting and serene.
●I believe it is true that he would walk LIKE a lobster around Paris (he had six legs, you know)
●Um, okay.
●At least that gave someone a good laugh. :)
●really?
●la tristesse durera toujours

Gnossienne No. 1 from The Painted Veil Soundtrack
●Oh dont tell ppl the ending!...... But yes I agree!! Tear rolling down my face!
●This is really pretty, I have not seen the movie yet. Is the book worth reading?
●very sad movie i think i cried so hard after he died very good movie and soundtrack thanks for uploading:)
●amazing song <3
●Het nationale ballet made a gorgeous ballet on this music.
●This is such a beautiful movie...and the soundtrack reinforces the emotions...touching!
●Unusual music. Not from human. From God. Human can not. But humans are parts of God.
●There is another version of Gnossienne 1, played with strings and drums. I have searched a lot, but I just couldn't find it. I have heard it in a video, if you write Les Absintheurs or The Absinthe Drinkers into the browser you can listen to it. If someone knows where I can find that version in full, please tell me!
●Thank you very much !
●this is one hot, sexy story!!!OOOH YEAH!!!!
●this movie is my favorite love movie,a lot of people says titanic but painted veil is more beautiful, soft and real and edward norton my favorite actor so i loved the movie more and more and the musics touch to the hearth.
●I listen to this whilst reading 'Atlas of Remote Islands' by Judith Schalansky. It is a remarkable book about the romance (and horrors) of forgotten islands, and this song illuminates these points wonderfully. Together, I'm carried away by them.
●love the way he plays it :) I've heard it several ways and I always keep coming back to this one
●Wow, How repetitive and pretentious. I'll take Herbert Stothart's score from the original any day.
●IS IT LEGAL to use this music in my videos?
●SO BEAUTIFUL. OMFG.
● BAH!
●0:44 ♥
●my fiancee gave me this movie and i watched it. i felt as if he was like the hero, the way he hides his feelings for me..the way he sometimes ignore me so he could study..the way he chased me when my heart was broken.. this movie represent my love life. once he told me that he got bloody dengue,i thought he was going to die, and i cry the whole night soundless and sleeplessly like the heroin. it was a touching movie for us..(though..he hopes i will not cheat him behind his back with another man)
●lovely movie... lovely melody... sounds straight to your heart...
●Reminds me something of middle east..Idk why....the way it sounds thats where it travels me
●erik satie= genius...just saying :)
●So Modern.......way better than Beethoven!!!

●Hi ! Im absolutely obsessed from this song !!! Where can i find the notes ?? I want to learn to play it !! it´s simply amazing ... xoxo

●beautiful dance, but, that girl is too happy to see the dancer, hahahaha, it´s kind of funny :D
●I don't think that contemporary dance is good with one person dancing, you need a small group atleast.. but then again.. too many people spoil it! and you also need contemporary music! (:
●oh ! it's very nice! soft and peacefull...it's nice to see so much sobriety and grace ! The " golden legs" also make a special effect !! hihi !

●Eric Satie "Gnossienne 3"
●song name?
●it was simply beautiful, every movement was performed with control convictioin and elegance. it was raw emotion portrayed through movement and i loved it
●how was that amazing? he didnt show very good control nothing was on demo point and he ran around the stage extending his leg and swinging his arms around... he fell off a turn and looked like he was improvising. he looks as though as he has ability maybe it was the choreographer?
●His muscle tone and control is immense giving him an awesome stage presence; he is so big and powerful but so, so graceful. It was lovely to watch.
●yes yes? yes..
●the ones who cannot become dancers as they do not possess the HEART for it always involve into conversations about technique. that's pretty much all they can do.

●She debuted in Paris The flower of Istanbul Started to dance and everything stayed silent Radiant light, purple and blue from her hand flying till the grace of her breasts And who does not give his life for a dream of a goddes shaped by the genius? Not the favorite of the Sultan ,nor a slave for sale at the gate of the Orient
●She is the star of ,,Pigalle" ,the dancer who mocked (probably meaning ruined) her luck... And who does not give his life to be the master of the air that lingers after her veil...To conquer the" Eifel tower" ,stepping on the arrogance of the West. She is the star of ,,Pigalle" ,the dancer who injured me to death.. And who does not give his life for a dream of a goddes shaped by the genius?
●Thanks!

●And you are tone-deaf apparently....

●Great coupling of images to music!
●F.O.R.T.
●What?
●have a can not please everybody that's life
●I don't like how this version is played. Its to fast to my mood. Still, a good piece.
●The Painted Veil with Naomi Watts & Edward Norton.
●Musique d'une obsédante beauté. Langoureusement «noire»!!
●<3
●Nice journey to the moon, for this dreamlike music.
●paris movie
●it is not movie just an amateur film with his telescope the music of Erik Satie is i like the moon good drink
●IN BRUGES!!
●can anyone please tell me which movie is this from? i beg you guys.. im a bit drunk.
●Satie, the magician in compousing minimalistig music, but also so full of undescridible floating energy...
