But as I said earlier about his post race interview in '08, Casey later apologized & admitted to saying it in the heat of the moment. We all say things in anger at times. ●This is just wrong. Putting the knee down is just done for a reference on how far the bike is banked over. After initially putting the knee down, most racers lift up their leg slightly so their knee isn't even touching the ground through the turn. It has nothing to do with balance. Centripetal force is pushing you toward the bike. Your knee is not needed to keep you stable on the bike.

●Knee down was originally done so the riders would know the grip limit of the bike, also it helps with stability as it gives the bike a third point of contact with the floor (front wheel, back wheel, knee)

I know you can corner without putting the knee down but it could be dangerous and can result in a crash beacuse the position on the bike is wrong. Taking corners with the knee down is much faster than normal leaning. Just my opinion as a rider. You'll understand more when you take a corner at highspeed. hope I helped you bud.

He can adapt his style in a couple of laps to suit a new bike. And then there's the acceleration part where he's probably the best of all. Sometimes he shows nice drifts but what makes him so fast is that he can open the throttle in such an efficient and sensitive way.

He could still ride it, but it would chuck him off as he banged down through the gears and entered a corner, never mind trying to get the power on at the apex. as for the turbocharged f1 cars, beasts, and in my opinion a higher class of driver in them. senna, mansell, prost would beat all current f1 drivers.

It's really not too different when you think about it, countersteer and throttle control is the key bike or kart, let the throttle off on either and you'll be in a bad way.

The Ducati that Casey had just stepped off in the 2010 end of season tests had just won 3 of the last 6 races & with Casey on it, it was often the "fastest." Vale jumped onto it & was 1.7sec slower for the whole test. Casey got on the Honda which had managed only 4 podiums & no wins (Pedro & Dovi combined) in that same 6 race period. Casey was jumping onto as far as form goes a slower & less successful bike & he was faster & put it on top.

In 2011 the only way Rossi could beat Stoner on a Duc was to crash into Stoner. In 2012, if Rossi comes in 7th it's a victory, if Stoner comes in 3rd it's a crushing blow. In a couple of years when Stoner has a couple more World Championships and Rossi is stuck with a CRT bike who will have the last laugh.

The ducati now isn't a good race bike But stoner won on it in 2007- 2010 so people argue he's better and won on a worse bike because obviously the 2011 Ducati is faster than the 2007-2010 ones right? He has a ridingstyle that allowes him to lean more and therefore come earlier on the throttle. I know what yuo mean, Rossi is rossi.
