Sure skylines are quicker but I want an Ae86 for the retro, heritage factor not just because it was on initial D. ●oh and im sorry i just realized you said you need highlift cams. High lift cams would only go towards increasing the compression if you were building an all motor engine because it increases the compression. If you want a good turbo setup you need to lower the compression rather than increase it. Thats why non vtec honda motors are best for turboing. Motors such as the d15 or b18a1 or b18b1. you can still swap a vtec head on them and keep the low compression ratio and then turbo it.
●ok im sorry i didnt go into massive detail on it. Oh and yes it can and it doesnt have to have 18pse. My buddys d15 has 300hp on stock internals with only 12psi. I also never said that you can use stock internals for 1000 horses. Yes it will need forged internals, a new crank, cams, rods, and no you dont necessarily have to have sleeves unless your walls are already shitted out when you do it. Just get a good polishing on it. Ive worked on several hondas, other imports and domestics.

●Show me a 1.6 SOHC with stock internals making 300 hp. Thats about 18 lbs of boost at the intake manifold, that will bend the rods or crack the pistons in a hurry. Forged internals (pistons and rods) will bring you up more for sure, but you need WAY MORE than that for 1000hp. Complete valve train, high lift cams, sleeved block (SOHC's have weak cylinder walls). Was working on 800 hp D17Y8 yesterday and not a single thing was stock.... its not an easy task let me assure you.

●Are you really that ignorant in the ways of building an engine. The sohc 1.6 honda motor can handle up to 300hp on stock internals when boosted. If you add forged internals to it an increase the boost it can hold up to 1000hp. Try looking these things up before you make an uneducated comment like that. If you are just hating on imports, look up the turboed or superchaged ford rangers with the 2.3l 4cyl. that push up to 1500hp.

●I laugh at all the people that say some small engines can produce more than 600hp. There is no physical way that a mere 1.3l or 2.3l engine can handle that much compression with blowing. You need a FAR larger engine to even get close to 700. Silly ricers. Your cars go fast, but a Honda civic will never be capable of producing 2500HP like you believe. Adding numbers off of the flow master fart machine exhaust does not equal your horse power.

●ae86 weighs 950kg(165hp) whereas the civic almost 1100(185hp)....If you make the calculation they have almost the same power to weight ratio.
●LS engines B series go and look educate yourself even some fast non-vtec Dseries boosted and NA ...... VVT-I does not work like VTEC, VVTL-i is the comparison I think u r looking for VVT-i just adjusts the overlap time between the exhaust valve closing and intake valve opening resulting in improved engine efficiency.
●I didn't say anything opposite to what you are saying. With VVti and Vtec you can have economy AND performance (depends on rpm). Non-vtec Hondas (stock) that are very fast(?!)...which do you mean?
